During whale season the Kai Kanani offers Whale Watching trips that depart form the beach in front of the Maui Prince Resort, which is in Makena, just south of the Wailea resort community. Humpback Whales come to Maui to give birth and breed before they migrate back to the waters off of Alaska to feed. These magnificent creatures can be spotted exhibiting a variety of behaviors such as: pectoral fin slapping, tale slapping, spouting, or if your lucky you might even see one breech out of the water before coming back down with a colossal splash!
