Kai Kanani
The “Kai Kanani” is a sixty-five foot sailing/power catamaran that departs from the beach in front of the Maui Prince Hotel in Makena. “Kai Kanani” goes to Molokini and on some trips they also go to a second spot that is known for it’s abundant population of Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. This departure location is much closer to Molokini then the Maalaea Harbor or the Kihei Boat Ramp so the “Kai Kanani” is able to get out to the snorkeling destination very quickly. The catamaran hull design makes for a very stable and smooth ride out to the protected waters of Molokini. After you’re done snorkeling Molokini you can go to a second snorkel spot and look for some turtles. This boat is a convenient option for those that are looking for a boat that is departs from a location that is close to the resort communities of Wailea and Makena. The large catamaran can pull right up onto the beach to pick up and drop off passengers, you board barefoot and you’ll generally get wet up to about your knee as you climb the stairs of the “Kai Kanani”.…
