Hiking

HAWAIIAN HIKING CO. Enjoy half and full day hiking excursions through the rainforest and waterfalls of the Windward side of Maui. A knowledgeable guide shares information about the Hawaiian Flora and Legends. All full day hikes include deli sandwiches (Turkey, Ham or Veggie), Bottled Water and a nice selection of seasonal fruit. (Minimum of four hikers to confirm all hikes)

ACTIVITIES

THREE HOUR WATERFALL WALK - an easy, casual walking and driving tour. Hike one mile through a tropical valley. Take a refreshing swim in a mountain stream. Detailed narrative on native flora and stream life. Hike to the top of 3 cascading waterfalls. Includes tropical fruit and bottled water. Max of 12 - Meets in Central Maui.

DAILY 9:00am to 12:00 noon or 1:00 to 4:00pm

MOUNTAIN RIDGE HIKE - Moderate to Strenuous 4.5 miles - Maui's unique native plants, rainforest, birds and exceptional views of Wailuku and Waihee Valley are the special features of this hike. A great aerobic workout. Elevation gain of 1,400 feet in 2 1/4 miles! The lower portion of the trail consists of Cook Pine, Sydney Blue Gum, Brush Box and Queensland Maple. The number of native species increases with elevation as mesic forest is replaced by wet forest. Maui's endemic birds, the Apapane and Amakihi are often seen in the 'Ohi'a trees. Fantastic panoramic views from your picnic table at the 2,600 foot elevation approaching Puu Kukui Peak. Includes Lunch. Minimum of 6 hikers to go.

HALF DAY RAINFOREST WATERFALL ADVENTURE - Moderate 3.5 mile hike into a private 400 acre valley where taro was cultivated by ancient Hawaiians. Enjoy lunch on a small island at the junction of two mountain streams. Swim underneath a 30 foot waterfall. 24 stream crossings! Hawaiian Hiking Co. provides special shoes and bamboo hiking sticks. A great way to learn about the natural and cultural history of the island. A fantastic photo safari! Meet in Central Maui; ride in van to the trail. Lunch: Deli sandwiches, seasonal fruit and bottled water. Hotel pick-up available for $20.00 per person on this tour

WEST MAUI MOUNTAIN TOUR - Moderate 3.5 miles - Fully guided van tour of the West Maui Mountains. Travel the scenic northern route through Honolua Bay, Nakalele Blow Hole and Kahakuloa Village. Hike into a tropical jungle of bamboo, ferns, guava and mango trees. Swim in a mountain stream at the base of 2 cascading waterfalls. Lunch of Deli Sandwiches, Seasonal Fruit and Bottled Water is served streamside. Hotel or Condo pick up in Kaanapali or Kapalua is included.
