Blue Hawaiian Helicopters
Blue Hawaiian Helicopters is by far the largest helicopter company in the state of Hawaii. They have fleets on all major islands of Maui, the Big Island, Oahu and also on Kauai. Blue Hawaiian Helicopters offers flights on the ASTAR helicopters, which have been the workhorse of the sightseeing helicopter industry since the mid 80’s. They also offer flights aboard the newer ECOSTAR Helicopters. Always the pioneers, Dave and Patti Chevalier were the first to bring the superior Eco-Star helicopters to Hawaii. Now Blue Hawaiian Helicopters is dedicated to eventually replacing their entire fleet with these Eco-friendly helicopters. Seeing Maui from a helicopter is an experience that is hard to match anywhere. If you look at Maui from a map you will see that the roads mainly go around the periphery of the island with only a small amount of roads going into the interior of the island. With the exception of the “upcountry” region of Maui this is true for the entire island with about 70% of is not easily seen from the ground. While there are some jeep and hiking trails that do venture up into the interior the majority of them cross over private land and are under lock and key. From the perspective of a helicopter these otherwise hidden sights are easily visible. A variety of flight patterns are offered going up to about an hour and a half in length that can show you virtually all of Maui and even some parts of Molokai. The North shore of Molokai is the home of the highest sea cliffs on the planet.
