Seasport Divers
One of the most well known dive shops on Kauai, Seasport Divers, has locations in both Poipu and Kapaa. Seasport Divers offers a full selection of diving options from beginner through advanced and offers a wide selection of dive location options which may be dependent upon weather and wave conditions at a particular time of year. In October of 2006 Seasport Divers was voted the #1 dive operation on Kauai by the readers of Scuba Diving magazine. The list of available options offered by Seasport is very large but perhaps not when viewed in the perspective of it being a full service dive shop with multiple locations. The boats they use on their charters are first-rate dive boats and seaworthy enough to even travel the eighteen miles between the island of Kauai and the neighboring islands of Niihau and its sister island Lehua. Their basic "bread and butter" tours however are probably their morning two-tank certified dives which travel to dive locations with such exotic names as Brennecke's Ledge, Ice Box, Fastlanes, General Store and Sheraton Caverns. These dives don't require that you be an expert or an extremely experienced diver but they do require some experience on your behalf. The first of the two dives may go as deep as ninety feet so you will probably be asked to stop your assent at the fifteen-foot level for three or four minutes as a safety stop before proceeding upward. The second dive may be as deep as seventy feet so you can see that you will be having two very solid and interesting dives. Don't feel however that experienced divers are the only divers catered to by Seasport Divers as they offer afternoon dives that take both first time divers and certified divers that have not been diving in some time. These are also two-tank dives which are wonderful for the inexperienced, especially the first time divers. Your first dive is usually, and understandably, full of trepidation and self doubt as you first experience this brand new activity but by the second dive you are now comfortable in the water and really able to enjoy the views and the total underwater experience in a manner that was probably your intention for diving in the first place.…
| Description: Morning Two Tank Trip is for experienced divers, you don't have to be an expert, but sometimes we'll do a drift dive in the morning so good buoyancy control is necessary to perform a safety stop, hovering at 15 feet for 3 minutes. The first dive is usually 80-90 feet and the second is 60-70 feet. Dive sites in the morning depend on water quality and customer preference. Good choices are Brennecke's Ledge, Ice Box, Fastlanes, General Store and Sheraton Caverns. We're usually back at the shop around noon.

Kids 8 to 9 years old can begin their Underwater SCUBA adventure with the PADI program BUBBLEMAKERS and 10 to14 year olds are able to attain the ranking of JR-OPEN WATER CERTIFIED. Program details below. SASY POOL (Supplied Air Snorkeling for Youths) Children 5 years of age and older can now participate in a fun and safe SCUBA-like activity created especially for them. The SASY units are designed like SCUBA units except the BCD"s are un-sinkable, so the child remains safely on the surface. Breathing from a regulator and wearing a child sized air tank, children can play at SCUBA in an easily controlled safe pool setting with one of our qualified instructors. SASY unit, fins, mask, wetsuit and an assortment of toys are provided. **Children who participate in the SASY Pool Program are eligible to SASY in the ocean at the discretion of the instructor. This allows children to experience some of Poipu"s beautiful snorkel sites with safe, buoyant SASY units with supplied air. | Description: Come to Kauai during the normally calmer time of year, which runs from late spring to early autumn (May through September) and experience some of Hawaii"s most spectacular scuba diving at the island of Ni"ihau. A three tank day of wall diving, huge caves and arches, giant schools of butterfly fish, schools of jacks, sharks, and visits by the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal make Ni"ihau and Lehua rock some of the best scuba diving in the state. The Ni"ihau charters are for very experienced scuba divers and we limit those trips to 12 divers. We often drift one or two dives and the depths are greater then on the South Shore trips. The first dive is usually 100-120 feet, the second is in that 60-80 foot range and the third dive is 40-50 feet. It"s a long day filled with incredible sights above and below the water. We"re usually back to the shop around 6pm. A light breakfast, a large lunch, snacks, water and juice provided. Make your reservations in advance as Ni"ihau scuba diving charters fill up fast.*

| Description: The afternoon tour takes new divers, divers that haven't dove for a while and first time divers in the Discover Scuba Diving program. The pace is a little bit slower and the dive sites are a little bit shallower. Both dives in the afternoon are in that 40-60 foot range. The groups are separated by experience, so certified divers have their own group and their own Divemaster and non-certified divers are diving together with their own Divemaster. The afternoon dive sites are also selected according to water conditions and customer preference and include, Nukomoi, Arena, Stonehouse and Sheraton Caverns. Usually back at the shop around 5:00pm.

| Description: 1 and 2 tanks Certified Divers or after experiencing the FREE Beginning Pool Lesson enjoy an Intro Ocean dive. Good for beginners or if you haven"t been diving in a while and need a refresher. Take a one or two tank dive at Historic Koloa Landing. Also known as Whalers Cove, it was voted one of the Best Shore Dives in the Pacific by Scuba Diving Magazine. This dive site is filled with interesting coral formations and just about every kind of fish you"ll find on a Hawaii Fish chart. There are also several Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles that call Koloa landing home as well. Shaped like a horseshoe it"s the perfect site for a two-tank dive. Less then 5 minutes from our Poipu shop and an easy walk in site that"s almost always calm - It"s tough to beat a Shore Dive at Koloa Landing.*
