The roots of Roberts Hawaii and its history as a land tour company have their roots deep in the social fabric of the island of Kauai. Roberts Hawaii was actually begun as a company just after the war began in 1941. Robert Iwamoto Sr. started a taxi company at that time to service the soldiers that had started to become a big part of the infrastructure of Kauai at the time. He began adding more vehicles and then began giving island tours and then added more vans and grew very fast. As generations of his family grew the business even more over the years it eventually took the position as the number one land tour company on Kauai and in the state of Hawaii. By the year 2007 Roberts Hawaii had grown to become the very largest employee owned business in Hawaii. On Kauai, Roberts Hawaii offers tours that cover the island from one side to the other.
