Princeville Ranch Adventures offers adventures in Hiking on Kauai's spectacular North Shore in the region of Hanalei. The company was founded by David and Denise Carswell. David was born and raised on the island and his family dates back generations to the early 1800's to one of the original missionaries to come to Kauai, Abner Wilcox. David, having grown up on the island had firsthand knowledge of all the fun Kauai had to offer and through his experience he was able to put together some absolutely spectacular adventures, many of which include hiking, to tantalize the island visitors that he now serves. The Zipline tours are perhaps the cornerstone of his operation and offer an undeniably exciting way to experience the beauty of Kauai's North Shore. Hiking these areas and along its streams rounds out the complete adventure package and its sister company, Princeville Ranch Stables, provides a horseback riding experience as well. | Description: Kayak, Hike and Zip, a truly unique jungle experience on the pristine private lands of Princeville Ranch! Enjoy beautiful Hanalei Mountain views as you approach the secluded Kalihiwai Stream. Kayak through a serene rainforest valley steeped in tropical sounds, scents and sights. Tie up and hike deeper into the ranch, negotiate several stream crossings and arrive at the spectacular Uluhe Fern Ridge. Here guests 12 years and up and 65 to 280 pounds have the option to ride TWO magnificent, 400+ foot zip lines and connecting bridge over a pristine twin waterfall and swimming hole. Those not zipping can watch or walk down to this idyllic spot. After zipping, you can jump, swim, float on inner tubes, enjoy a delicious freshly prepared meal and relax. Kayaking is beginner-level and total kayaking time is approximately one hour, round trip. Hiking is moderately strenuous, includes multiple stream crossings and is approximately 2 hours, round trip. Hike the lowland rainforest, Kalihiwai Valley, to the spectacular five-tiered Kalihiwai Falls! Continue up-valley along the stream to a second, idyllic waterfall swimming hole surrounded by fern-lined walls for a delicious lunch and jumping or floating on inner tubes.
