Kayak Kauai Outbound
Kayak Kauai Outbound is one of the original kayak and adventure companies found on Kauai and specializes in kayaking, hiking and surfing. The owners and originators of the company are the Cuban born brothers Micco and Chino Godinez. They actually began their business with kayak tours in the early eighties after having undertaken a three week kayak adventure of their own in which they traveled the entire length of the state of Hawaii from the Big Island to Kauai. That trip sparked their enthusiasm for sharing the world of kayaking with others and Kayak Kauai Outbound was born. Shortly afterwards they expanded their successful operation to include hiking tours and surf lessons. They are now one of the most respected adventure tour operators on Kauai and have received recognition in National Geographic Magazine, the Honolulu Star Bulletin, Men's Journal and many others. Their Kayak tour offerings are many and vary in length and difficulty. The beautiful Hanalei River provides the setting for one of its many tours and this tour includes both a river kayaking experience and a kayak snorkel in the waters off Hanalei Bay. The Wailua River in the Kapaa area is not exempt either from the paddle kayaks of Kayak Kauai Outbound. These tours not only involve kayaking but also hiking to a beautiful waterfall known as Secret Falls. If you're really looking for adventure and are fit enough to handle about six-hours of paddling you simply have to go with them on a magical journey along Kauai's famous Na Pali Coast. | Description: A 5 hour in depth exploration and guided paddle and snorkel tour of the Hanalei Heritage River and Bay estuary, reef and lagoon, accompanied by charming water-borne natural historians. When seas are small you can explore the perimeter of the sandy shores of Hanalei Bay or across the bay and explore the sea stack and little known sea caves between Waikoko and the beautiful cove of Lumahai. When the seas do not allow, you can venture upstream and explore the Hanalei River, with its unique cultural, panoramic and ecological value. This tour is more challenging. | Description: This will be a long, impressive day of warm coastal paddling and caving along the monumental Na Pali Coast with your island guide(s). Marvel at sea caves. plunging waterfalls, hanging valleys and secluded beaches. Paddle beyond the verdant valley of Kalalau, past the arches of Honopu, and into the azure waters of a volcanic sea cave. Encounter Dolphins, Tropic Birds and upon occasion, the elusive Monk Seal. Later, pulling ashore, we'll spend a few hours stopping to rest and have lunch on the quiet beach of Miloli'i. At Miloli'i we can swim, beach comb, and visit an old Hawaiian fishing heiau (fishing shrine). Polihale State Park, where the cliffs meet the sand dunes, is our final destination. | Description: For the person who prefers to go on their own! Kauai's rivers are flat and so slow moving that the wind is often more of a factor than the current. Choose from the following areas kayak. A) Hanalei River - You can be launched from the dock on the Hanalei River, paddle two miles upstream into Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge or one mile downstream to Hanalei Bay. When conditions permit (usually summer) you can venture into the reef-protected area of the bay B) Other Rivers - Convenient roof mounting of a rental kayak with foam blocks and straps is available for those who wish to explore other areas (Hulei'a, Kilauea and Kalihiwai ). Kayaks are offered in a Basic package or Deluxe boats, which are longer, faster, more buoyant boats.
