Hawaii Jet Ski Rides are Thrilling!
Hawaii Jet Ski rides are a thrill for those that have the "need for speed". Those active types who enjoy a snowboard ride down a black diamond slope or a romp in the out-back on an ATV will be right at home jet skiing in Hawaii waters. Of the four largest islands all of them offer Jet Ski rentals with the exception of Kauai. Of the three that offer them: Oahu, Maui and the Big Island, these jet ski courses are often very active throughout the day but remember that the course on Maui operates in the whale sanctuary area off the coast of Kaanapali and thus this course is closed down during whale season from December 15th to May 15th.
Hawaii Jet Ski tours usually depart from an ocean platform built some distance off-shore. Clients are ferried out to the platform and allowed to ride the jet skis for either a half-hour or an hour at a time over a course surrounding the platform. Depending upon the specific type of Jet Ski rental you ride on you will be able to go by yourself or Jet Ski with one other person. Pricing for the second Jet Ski rental person is usually at a discount and the riders can opt to switch between driver and passenger throughout the experience.
Jet Skis are Propelled by Jets of Water
The Hawaii Jet Ski rentals are designed with safety in mind and they are propelled by jets of water and not propellers. A list of precautions is generally adhered to by all Hawaii Jet Ski companies to provide the best experience. A complete safety briefing is administered prior to riding your vehicles and brief practice sessions are encouraged when you first mount your vehicle. All Jet Ski riders will be required to wear a life vest. During the time when you are adjusting to the experience of jet skiing in Hawaii you will be asked to keep the jet ski speed down to about 10 mph while you get used to standing upright on the vehicles and shifting your weight to make turns. You will also be asked to keep your vehicle within the confines of the jet skiing course so as to avoid contact with other jet skis and boats. When approaching other jet skis you will be asked to slow down when the distance between you comes within three-hundred yards. Although every day can be different, you can also make your Jet Ski ride more pleasant, easier and even safer by choosing to take your ride in the morning hours when the ocean conditions are usually calmer and more suitable for a Jet Ski ride.
