Bike Volcano
Volcano Bike Tours will ride you down to visit the active volcano of Kilauea and surrounding areas of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. You will explore the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park from summit to sea followed by a wine tasting session or bike down Kilauea's east rift zone to see active lava flows. All necessary equipment for your adventure is provided in addition to lunch or a hot dinner, snacks, beverages, a professional interpretive guide and van support. Bring your family, children are welcome. Guides will take you through fantastic terrains, all on mostly downhill and leveled paved roads and trails, while sharing geological, mythological and botanical information with you. From lush ancient Hawaiian rainforests to dynamic lava landscapes, you will experience a variety of microclimates, huge craters, stand by steaming vents, walk through a lava tube, and if Madame Pele (the Volcano Goddess) allows, you'll see active lava flows pouring into the Pacific Ocean. | Description: Join Bike Volcano on an incredible guided bicycle adventure of Kilauea Volcano's East Rift Zone and Active Lava Flow. The rift is a giant crack that runs from the summit of Kilauea Volcano through the island and into the ocean. Lava is likely to find its way anywhere along this crack or rift, because the lava follows the path of least resistance. The East Rift Zone of Kilauea Volcano is an area that has seen most of recent lava activity rift on the Island of Hawaii. Explore the eastern rift zone as we travel through lush tropical jungles along a coastal country road on your way to Kilauea Volcano's Active Lava Flow. Along the way you will see tropical fruit farms, witness spectacular ocean views and see where lava flows have cut their way through the rainforest. Once we reach the lava devastated Hawaiian village of Kalapana, you will witness the 1991 Lava Flow which created the new Kaimu Black Sand Beach. Here we will have a hot dinner before biking at sunset to witness the amazing fiery red glow of Madame Pele's magnificent creation (Volcano Dependant). The finish line is at the active lava flow where you will take a short hike to the ocean. Enjoy this wonderful, leisurely afternoon bike tour. *
Departure Point: Check in or pick up from the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel between 12:30 to 1:30pm depending on time of the year for sunset.

| Description: Join in on an amazing guided bicycle tour of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii and explore Kilauea Volcano from Summit to Sea followed by an optional wine tasting session at the Volcano Winery. Your exciting day begins at the summit of Kilauea, which is currently erupting. You will bike around the rim of this erupting crater on off road trails and paved roads. Here you will get a chance to "Feel the Heat" of the volcano as you stand next to the Steam Vents. Periodically throughout the tour your interpretive guide will share geological, mythological and botanical information with you. After leaving the summit crater you will head through the lush ancient Hawaiian rainforest. Here you will see the incredible Kilauea Iki Crater and take a short hike through the rainforest to the famous Thurston Lava Tube as you are serenaded by native Hawaiian birds.
The journey continues as you head down the Chain of Craters Road, where you will see a variety of pit craters and lava trees. See dynamic panoramic views of the ocean and lava landscapes as you travel the last four miles to the ocean by van. Enjoy the sea breeze as you are served a delectable lunch ocean side and if Madame Pele (the Volcano Goddess) allows, you will see active lava going into the Pacific Ocean.
Relax as you travel back to the Summit by van where we will top off this majestic adventure with an optional fifteen minute exotic wine tasting session at the Volcano Winery. Bike as much or as little of this breathtaking tour, a support van will always be close by. *
