Parker ranch is a highlight of the Big Island of Hawaii. Founded by John Parker, a New Englander who jumped ship on the Big Island, it is the largest private ranch under single ownership in the United States and a home of the legendary Paniolo or Hawaiian cowboys.
In 1803, the first horses were brought to the Big Island. These would become the working companions of Hawaii's Paniolo who began riding the range years before the first mainland cowboys appeared in Texas. The Paniolo continue a long tradition of Hawaiian music, language and lifestyle that is unique part of the Hawaiian culture.
Today the ranch, in addition for being used for raising cattle, is used for horseback riding and for hunting adventures. Riding horses on this beautiful ranch is an experience any equestrian would relish and the hunting found on the Parker Ranch is some of the best to be found in Hawaii. Hunters can pursue Blue Pheasant, Ring Neck Pheasant Francolin Quail, Chucker, Partridge and other Quail as well as wild Turkey and of course wild boar and wild goat.

- If you'd like to get a sense of what a real cattle ranch is like (in the old days it ran over 5000 head of cattle), the Parker Ranch will amaze you. From the stone corrals and breaking pens to the blacksmith shop it's all the real deal.
- If you're a hunter and you haven't hunted for wild boar on the Big Island, you're in for a real treat.
- Guns are included on the hunts. If you choose to use your own it will need to be registered with the local law enforcement.
