Nui Pohaku
The sightseeing tours offered by Nui Pohaku Adventure Tours specialize in seeing the spectacle that is the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Departing from the Queen Lili'uokalani Gardens in Hilo these tours offer an extensive tour of the volcano area taking approximately eleven hours. You're Nui Pohaku Adventure Tour will be personalized to no more than twelve passengers as you visit every important aspect of the national park. You will see the amazing Halemaumau Crater which Mark Twain chronicled in the eighteen-hundreds and its fiery outpouring of molten lava and dense white smoke and gas. While at that location you will be taken to the Jagger Museum to see the various exhibits, both scientific and historical, regarding the volcanic activity of this area. You'll have an opportunity to walk through the tropical rainforest and enter the amazing Thurston Lava Tube which in places is so large you could drive a train through and you'll be able to walk out on the black sand beaches on the lower portion of the park and see the area where the lava is flowing into the sea from the Pu'u O'o vent higher on the slopes.
