Manta Ray Dives of Hawaii
Manta Ray Dives of Hawaii has made a living by taking divers out to visit the Manta Rays. This is not to say that this is the only dive or snorkel they have on their menu but it's fair to say that since Manta Ray Dives of Hawaii was featured in National Geographic in December of 1995 and again in Life Magazine in August of 1998 with full articles and beautiful photographic spreads featuring their dives with the magic Manta Rays, that their dive business took a significant slant in the direction of dives with the Manta Rays. And why not! The Manta Rays are fantastic animals and these dives were rated by Rodale's Scuba Diving Magazine as one of the top ten dives of all time involving large marine animals. These animals are huge, measuring in some cases fifteen feet at their widest wingspan. Large they are and scary they might look, but there is nothing about these animals that can really hurt you. There are no teeth and no barbs and they are often referred to as the "gentle giants" of Kona. It is estimated that there may be up to one-hundred-and-fifty individuals located along the coastline and they very predictably show up evening after evening at specific locations to feed on plankton and other small creatures. As an amazing additional benefit Manta Ray Dives of Hawaii even offers evening snorkeling tours with the Manta Rays.

Vendor: Manta Ray Dives/Neptune Charlie Product: AM Dolphin Adventure Swim Description: Come join in an unforgettable journey with the Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, which could possibly change your life forever! Your journey begins at the Honokohau Marina where you head up the Coastline in search of one of our many pods of year round resident Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins. Travel up the rugged Kona coastline where you can see some of the most beautiful scenery, which can only be viewed, by boat. Along your cruise you can expect to see white sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise water. The Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins are the smallest dolphins in Hawaii, which reach about the size of an adult human and are very predictable in the areas along the coastline where we regularly encounter them. Some days we locate the Dolphins outside a white sandy beach called Makalawena, sometimes in Kiholo Bay or even Ho'ona Bay. Once we have located a pod, you are actually able to enter the water and snorkel and have as many as 300 dolphins all around us. * Operates: Daily: 9:00am Departure Point: Departs from Honokohau Harbor, meet at Boat Launching Ramp Duration: N/A Equipment: 'Rainbow Diver II', 28' Orca Twin Diesel power boat with bow platform Capacity: 20 passengers Inclusions: Includes tanks and weights only.
