The "Mecca" for sportfishing in Hawaii is the Big Island of Hawaii's Kona Coast. The Kona Coast lies immediately next to a huge ocean drop-off which descends thousands of feet to the ocean bottom.

Big Island of Hawaii Fishing Charters - The very best place for sport fishing in all of Hawaii is off the Kona coast of the Big Island. Not only is the fishing great but the fishing grounds actually begin within a few hundred yards of the harbor. This is probably due to the fact that the Kona Coast of the Big Island actually drops off thousands of feet just off shore making it available to the deep water fish making their way up from the depths. One of the great things about fishing in Kona is that because the fishing is so good there are many boats fishing there, and because there are many boats, the pricing is generally better than is found on other islands.
