| Description: Four-hour adventure to cruise and explore the historic Kona Coast. View Sea caves and lava tubes en route to Captain Cook"s Monument at Kealakekua Bay. Guest will snorkel at this premier marine sanctuary viewing many species of colorful reef fish, eels and corals. Then snorkel with the "honu" (green sea turtles), at the beautiful coral gardens in Honaunua Bay (the Place of Refuge). The adventure continues as you head out to find the year round resident dolphins and whales including spinner, spotted, bottlenose dolphins, pilot whales, melon headed whales, false killer whales and beaked whales and seasonally the magnificent humpback whales (Dec-March). Guests will learn about whales, dolphins and other ocean wildlife while observing them in their natural habitat.

You will get to interact with the dolphins while learning about them and getting great photo opportunities both above and below the surface. Guests may get to swim with the dolphins depending on where they are and what they are doing. The local knowledge and expertise in finding the dolphins comes from over 14 years of running dolphin, whale watching and snorkeling tours in Kona. Utmost care is given not to disrupt their rest, nursing and breeding behaviors. Dolphin Discoveries has a high success rate of finding the dolphins and letting them "choose" whether to interact with guest or not. When they do interact with you, it is truly magical and can be a life changing experience. Dolphins and whales are intelligent, magnificent beings and it is an honor when they offer us a glimpse of their world.
