COWBOYS
OF HAWAII HORSEBACK RIDING AT PARKER RANCH come and see where it
all began, Parker Ranch, where paniolos (cowboys) and horses first
met 150 years ago. The ride starts at the Blacksmith Shop, going on
to the Breaking Pen, through rolling hills to the Stone Corrals, where
as many as 5000 head of Hereford cattle were held after being driven
down from the slopes of Mauna Kea. From there moving on to more historical
sites, such as the Race Track where famous Parker Ranch thoroughnbreds
were trained and still hold world records for speed.
Beginner,
intermediate and advanced riders can be accommodated from 7 years
old, over 250 lbs can be accommodate with prior arrangement. Western
style only. Non-english speaking guests are welcomed and easily accommodated.
Exclusive Japanese Rides are available. Private rides can be arranged
for an additional charge.
For
those who choose not to ride and are waiting for others there are Wagon
Rides, Historical Homes Tours and the Visitors Center and Museum at
the Parker Ranch Shopping Center, are alternate activities available. |
