Facts about "The Real Hawaii" Eco-Cultural Excursions
"We are one of only two Eco businesses in Hawai'i that uses exclusively Native Hawaiian/Polynesian guides for tours. This provides guests with accurate and first hand knowledge of the land and culture from the very people who first set foot on the islands, the Polynesians. Nobody can "talk story" like a true Hawaiian.
We are one of only a handful of Eco businesses on Oahu who have passed and been certified by the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) to be able to commercially use Hawai'i trails for excursions. Many stringent criteria must be met to be considered for permit issuance. We are active members of the Hawaii Ecotourism Association, and National Audubon Society, and the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau. All of guides are either Red Cross CPR or First Aid certified or both.

ACTIVITY
The "Real Sacred" Excursion Our newest excursion, takes you to some of the most ancient and sacred places on Oahu. We will provide water, Kona Coffee, and a danish for breakfast. This excursion seems to be more popular in the 40 year old and above crowd than any of our excursions. We visit several of the most sacred heiau, fishponds, and pertoglyphs on Oahu. This excursion has the added bonus of actually being an enhanced 'circle island' tour as we start in Waimanalo and go north through Dole lands, and then back to Waikiki. Though not part of this excursion, as we visit heiau in the same area, we will point out the Fantasy Island television set as well as the area where the Japanese fly-by took place in the movie Pearl Harbor. Currently offered on Saturday and Sundays other times may be available. About 6 hours long. 7:30am to 2:30pm Hotel pick-up and return is included.

The "Real Tropical" Excursion This longer excursion does Pali to Waimanalo hike. This hike is not for everyone. It's over 9 miles in length, and 5 hours worth of hiking, but guests see every kind of fauna, flora, and terrain there is on Oahu. Many seasoned hikers say this is one of the most beautiful hikes they have ever done. 7:30am to 2:30pm Includes Hotel pick-up and return.

The "Real Wet" Excursion Our short 2-4 hour excursion generally goes to Tantalus (Puu Ohia) area near Manoa Cliffs taking you to some of the wettest and most 'Hawaiian' spots of Oahu. This hike gives you a good dosage of the native plant life present here, and also highlights much of the Hawaiian culture present in the area. 7:30am to Noon or 1:00pm to 5:00pm Includes hotel pick-up and return.

HONOLULU CITY HAUNTS WALKING TOUR - Visit several known haunted hotspots in Honolulu. This will include Iolani Palace, the State Capital Building and areas in both China Town and Downtown Honolulu. Storytellers will divulge the secrets behind these spooky locations. Some places do not allow entry, so guides will stand outside the building or location and tell the story. Minimum of 4 and Maximum of 22 per tour - Not recommended for children under 8 years old - Extensive walking tour 1.2 miles, wear comfortable walking shoes. 2 Hours - pick up throughout Waikiki available. TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY EVENING 8:00pm to 9:45pm

ORBS OF OAHU DRIVING TOUR will take place in the dark of the night and passengers will be witness to the creepy sites where horrifying events took place many years ago. In a 4hour jaunt, clients will be shown spots over much of the island that have been made famous in books and tales for hundreds of years. Oahu is justly famous for being a supernatural hotspot in the Pacific. The events may be history, but the haunts are just beginning! MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY (Saturday sometimes) pick up times start at 6:50pm .

SACRED SPIRITS TOUR is a daytime driving tour, which will visit several of the most ancient and sacred spots in Hawaii, revered and respected to this day by native Hawaiians. Clients will learn about the Menehune (the little people), the feared Night Marchers, Pele, the Fire Goddess and much more. This special tour is led by Polynesians to add to the authenticity of the sites visited. SATURDAY and SUNDAY (additional days may be available) starts picking up at 7:00am

The Real Hawaii - The Real Hawaii eco-cultural excursions, is one of the few companies in Hawaii that exclusively use native Hawaiian Polynesian guides on its tours. The premise upon which this company was built was the belief that visitors to the islands truly wanted to feel and participate in the real Hawaiian experience. They believe that visitors want to get away from the streets and byways of the “civilized” Hawaii and visit the old Hawaii of the original Hawaiians. These tours are always taken is small groups of twelve persons or less so you can ask questions freely and truly get the most out of each tour. Their eco hiking excursions will vary in length from as little as two miles to as many as nine miles on a single hike. If you’re not into the serious longer hikes you will love the “Real Wet Excursion” tour which takes you to an area above Waikiki to a beautiful area of tremendous lush growth with huge bamboo, waterfalls and pristine streams. This is an area where practicing botanists come from around the world to study the special vegetation. If you’re a serious adventurer the “Real Tropical Excursion” is for you. This is a nine mile adventure hike that will take you deep into the Koolau Mountains to the heart of the forest. You can expect spectacular views, lush tropical rainforests, streams, mountain side waterfalls, native plants and trees, some of the steepest cliffs on Oahu and even an occasional wild boar. The Real Sacred Excursions is a 5 to 6 hour tour without the excessive hiking that takes you to visit some of the most sacred spots in all of Hawaii. No matter which tour you take you’ll come back with the experience of having taken a “Real Hawaiian Tour”.
