The Original Glider Rides
The fixed wing Original Glider Rides offer a fantastic soaring glider ride up on Oahu's North Shore. Now here’s something exciting, different and worthwhile! The view of Oahu’s North Shore in sensational on these fixed wing aircraft, and breathtaking and thrilling from the seat of a high-performance bubble-topped glider. Glide effortlessly on the wings of the wind as you enjoy this remarkable experience. This is a personalized adventure allowing for only yourself and your pilot guide or the pilot and yourself with one other person. These glider sailing flights offered by the Original Glider Rides take off from Dillingham Airfield which in the late nineteen sixties became a decommissioned Air Force Base. The field is enormous however stretching nine-thousand feet in length and is seventy-five feet wide and the state of Hawaii operates and maintains the field during the day. The flying conditions on this coastline are excellent and as a result The Original Glider Rides operate the entire year long and flights occur generally through the hours of ten in the morning to about five-thirty in the afternoon. All the pilots (of which there are about fifteen) are commercially rated and FAA certified. Many are retired airline pilots and all share their love of flying with their passengers.…
