Temptation Tours is one of the most established of the Maui sightseeing tour companies. They have always remained focused on their mission, which is to offer the visitors of Maui a high-end luxury sightseeing tour. The prices with Temptation Tours are a bit higher then you will find on most of the other sightseeing tours but the group sizes will be smaller and you will travel in one of the Temptation Tours limo-vans. The most popular of the tours offered by Temptation Tours are the Hana and Haleakala Tours. The Hana Tour will take guests out to the East side of the island where tradewinds have created a tropical rainforest that receives about one hundred inches of rain a year. You will pass by Bamboo forests, Banyon Trees, flower farms, fruit stands, black sand beaches, jungle waterfalls, taroe patches, and much more. Hana is the countryside of Maui. Once you get to Hana town do not be disappointed at their lack of stoplights, movie theaters and big name stores. You will find not much more in Hana then one small resort, two small grocery stores, a gas station, and the baseball field. The other trip that Temptation Tours is well known for is the Haleakala and upcountry tours. The Haleakala Crater is over one thousand feet deep and more then ten miles across. The bottom is littered with cinder cones and colored a deep red. Unfortunately the crater is not visible until you actually get up to the craters rim peer over the edge, if this is something you would like to see it is required that you travel to the top of the mountain to do so. Afterwards, you"re Crater and Rainforest tour begins. This unique package offers the opportunity to experience a wide variety of scenery in only one day - Spectacular Haleakala Crater, Conifer Forest, exotic Protea Farms, Paniolo Cowboy Country, lush Haiku, Rainforest Waterfalls and a world famous wind surfing beach. Your journey begins with a scenic drive to the top of the dormant 10,023 foot tall Haleakala Volcano. Be sure and bring a jacket, as it"s typically about 30 degrees cooler at the summit than at sea level. After experiencing amazing vistas from this elevation, then descend down to Hosmer"s Grove, which is a conifer forest. Hosmer"s Grove gives you the impression that you"re in the Pacific Northwest, but there are rare native Hawaiian birds nesting among the spectacular trees. Next you descend down the mountain to visit a protea farm. These beautiful and unusual plants are native to the Valley of the Moon in Africa, which nestles in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. This small section of Maui enjoys the same climate and volcanic soil conditions as that part of Africa. Departing the protea farm, continue down the mountain through cattle and dairy ranches to the paniolo cowboy town of Makawao. In this unique town you will still see hitching posts, from back when horses were more common than cars. Today this quaint village is home to quite an eclectic group of little shops and boutiques. After your Upcountry lunch, we will head east through Haiku, where the grass is always a beautiful emerald green. This is where the kamainas live on lands with bountiful groves of avocado, citrus, banana, papaya, mango and exotic tropical flowers. After leaving Haiku, you than get to experience a spectacular rainforest you"ll stop and swim at a beautiful waterfall where the flowering ginger and bird of paradise abound over the trails. Following the waterfall swim is Keanae Peninsula, which is a little tongue of lava jutting right out into the ocean. Keanae is a traditional Hawaiian farming community in which little has changed in the last 500 years. The huge ocean waves crashing into the jagged lava Keanae shore creates a spectacular photo opportunity. The afternoon return journey takes you to Hookipa Beach Park, the wind surfing capital of the world.
