Certified tour guides from Mountain Riders or Temptation Tours will provide you with a history of Haleakala, its geology and an explanation of rare plants and animals only found on Maui. Upon arrival at the House of the Sun Visitor Center, you will be escorted by your mountain guides, to the rim of the crater and view into the world"s largest dormant volcano. Your tour then proceeds to the 6,500 foot level of Haleakala where you are expertly fitted to your bicycle, receive a comprehensive safety briefing and begin your 28 mile bike ride down the slopes of Haleakala. Your journey proceeds through Haleakala Ranch and the upcountry community of Kula stopping at Sunrise Market Protea and Flower Farm for a No-Host sit down lunch stop. Following lunch and tour of the flower farm you will continue your bike ride through the upcountry communities of Pukalani and Makawao, coasting through Sugar Cane and Pineapple Fields and continuing down to the Pacific Ocean ending at Paia Beach Park.
