Ho'omana'o

For over 25 years the Old Lahaina Luau has been has been the most well known and respected luau to be offered in Hawaii. The luau is often sold-out many weeks in advance. If you’re coming to the islands for a visit this is a "must book early". Although the seating is excellent from any vantage point if you want to sit closer to the stage, or even sit traditional style with legs folded and near the front, your seat placement is dependent upon the date it was booked so this is an additional reason to book early. And will it be worth it? A case could be made, in fact a very good case could be made that the Old Lahaina Luau is not just the very best luau on Maui but in all likelihood the very best luau in all of Hawaii.

And please don’t forget that the same quality and thoughtfulness that is put into the nightly performances of the Old Lahaina Luau can also be found in the morning presentation they refer to as Ho’omana’o. If anything on island is a must see for the children, this is it. It really gives all who attend a very “hands on” Hawaiian experience.

In July of 2005, the Old Lahaina Luau launched something quite new in Hawaii, a cultural tour of ancient Hawaii in the form of a Breakfast Luau. In addition to your lavish Hawaiian style Breakfast Buffet you’ll be treated to a very educational and entertaining morning which everyone will enjoy. Hawaiian chanting and hula dancing will usher in a session of three separate Hawaiian experiences. You will be able to visit three Hawaiian Villages, or “kulana”, set up along the oceanfront and participate in a different Hawaiian experience in each. The first village will accentuate the Hula, the second, Hawaiian warefare and the third the “Ahu-pu-aa” which deals with the ancient land divisions and the life the Hawaiians had on the land. Within each Kulana, guests will discover the fascinating history of early Hawaii, and may participate in interactive demonstrations, such as playing a Hula implement, poi pounding, kapa making, learning the art of “throw-net” fishing, Hawaiian spear throwing and much more. This will be a great morning for all, and for those who are traveling with children, this would be my first choice of activities to attend.

Steve and everyone at Tom's:

I have dealt with your company for many years now and no matter what island I visit, which I do at least once a year, you have always assisted me in the seeing and doing the very best sites on the islands. I cannot thank you enough for your assistance and knowledge. I know that you are always the first one I call when I get ready for another visit to the Islands.
