The entire ride is conducted at a walking pace which allows you to soak up all the beautiful views, sights and sounds. The air quality at this height is crisp, refreshing and invigorating. You can choose from a tour that takes you down to the crater floor or a more extensive one that will travel the crater floor to view all its wonders.

Ka Mao O Pele Junction Ride - Haleakala on Horseback

Description: This is an 8 mile horseback ride from the summit of Haleakala to the bottom of the craters floor at the Ka Mao O Pele Junction. You will reach this junction and then return. On your return trip you will be so glad you are on a horse and not trying to hike in the high altitude environment. Your tour includes lunch at the junction. *
Operates: 8:30am at House of the Sun Visitor Center returns around 2:00pm

Inclusions: Clients are provided with windbreaker jacket/pants and gloves.

Description: This is a 12 mile horseback ride from the summit of Haleakala to the craters floor at the Kapalaoa Cabin. Once at the cabin you will begin your return trip. Riding on the back of a horse is the ideal way to view this high altitude environment. Your tour includes a sit down lunch at Kapalaoa Cabin.*
