Fathom Five Divers is a full service dive company that has a great reputation on Kauai. It is a family owned business whose owners, Jeanette and George Thompson, have a genuine passion for diving. They have both worked in the dive industry on Kauai for over 20 years and have one of the highest rated dive operations on the island. These include an introductory shore dive for non-certified divers, a refresher shore dive for those who haven't dived in over two years, an incredible three tank dive tour off the coast of the forbidden island of Niihau, an introductory two-tank dive for small groups of six, a certified two tank dive also for small groups of six, a single tank night dive which provides a completely different vision of the underwater world, a certified one-tank shore dive of Kauai's south shore, another certified shore dive off of Kauai's northern shores, a twilight two tank dive, an underwater certification course and an advanced open water course.------------ Some of the dives offered by Fathom Five Divers are truly amazing. The three tank dive to the island of Niihau is a case in point. This island is some twenty miles or so off the coast of Kauai and is relatively pristine in terms of its underwater viewing. Even the marine mammals found there in fair quantities are amazing. The Monk Seal is a great example. Virtually all dives on other Hawaiian islands are dives that are found immediately off the coasts of those islands. The easy access to these dive sites by the population centers on these islands has naturally placed varying degrees of environmental pressure on the eco systems surrounding these sites and in some cases has degraded their quality. The one exception to a dive site lying beyond the actual island that still has a lot of activity generated from the host island would be the tiny marine sanctuary of Molokini but even here the intense number of crowds entering the waters surrounding the island have cause a certain degradation. The pristine nature of the underwater areas surrounding Niihau make it a fantastic place to visit. -------------Another impressive dive offered by Fathom Five Divers is their two-tank intro boat dive. Very few dive companies offer such an option. The first introductory dive most people take is actually the most difficult and with the second they become more comfortable in the water and actually relax a bit more and enjoy the experience of being in the underwater world. These boat dives however can tax those with a tendency toward sea-sickness so deciding to participate on one of these dives would be an individual decision each diver would have to make for themselves.…

| Description: A supreme adventure, but not for the faint of heart! April through September is Niihau"s dive season. These are some of Kauai"s most advanced dives but the payoff is stupendous.
