Sunset sails along the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii can be very beautiful but very few boats will actually sail for almost the entirety of the trip. The Kamanu really does. The trade winds this time of the evening are usually a gentle breeze suitable for a pleasing romantic voyage. The Kamanu is a thirty-six foot Kurt Hughes design sailing catamaran that has been operational in the waters off the Big Island since 1974. The Kamanu, its captain and crew have had a long time to perfect their craft and the sunset sail they offer is one of the best. The small numbers of people taken (the limit is ten couples) and the over-all "laid-back" ambiance of the sail make it one of the most relaxing evenings of your stay in Hawaii. In addition to light "pupu's" you will be treated to an open bar of beer, wine and MaiTais. These colorful and romantic sails are two hours in length and will depart from the Honokohau Marina. This is nothing like seeing them in captivity; you will be able to see them up close and personal in their own surroundings that they have been raised in. | Description: This tour usually departs around 5:00pm and you arrive at the Manta Ray site in about 45 minutes, you can snorkel a bit before you watch an amazing sunset from the boat.
